As a solo entrepreneur, I know the journey is rarely smooth, but some days just remind me even more of the emotional rollercoaster that comes with building a business from scratch.Ā
I've been running the business for a few weeks now, and generally speaking, it's going really well.Ā
I did, however, discover that my LinkedIn profile wasnāt working. I tried logging in, but it then took me to the ID verification page. Furthermore, I then went through the annoying verification steps, which included turning my head from side to side. This annoyed me because I already did this a few weeks ago, so why am I doing it again?
Eventually, I managed to get back into my account. Then about 4 days later, the same thing happened again. This time they have instructed me to wait a few days.Ā Itās always madness when a platform, you rely on for networking and connecting with potential collaborators, decides to act up. I don't really use LinkedIn that much, but I still wasn't happy about this situation.Ā
I wasted way too much time troubleshooting to no avail. My account is still down as I write this. Not only that, but Google seems to of ranked two LinkedIn accounts in my name. My old one and my new, and updated one, so I don't know what that's about.
On top of that, I had one of those days were I just struggled to get out of bed because I couldn't be bothered. Hey! I'm only human. These things happen, right?Ā
As much as I love running my own business, there are days when the weight of it all feels heavier than usual. And to make things more complicated, I recently, got into a heated argument with my brother over a large loan i gave him, which he still hasn't paid back. Itās hard enough juggling business and personal life, but when the two collide, it can be really draining.
Despite these bumps, I have made some significant progress today. I managed to get Klarna fully integrated into Paptu, which was a huge step forward, because initially, it wasn't working properly. Being able to offer customers flexible payment options is imperative towards helping increase conversion rates.
To further help boost sales, I installed an app that helps customers add more products at checkout. This increases the average order value for each purchase. Itās one of those behind-the-scenes things that doesnāt always get attention, but really makes a difference in the long run.
Of course, there were a few more tech headaches today. My SIM card suddenly stopped workingāhonestly, I didnāt even know that was possible! So I had to get on the phone to the customer service department of my network provider, and order a new SIM card. During the 4-day wait, I had no data, so I just had to connect to local WI-FI, so that was a setback.Ā
No part of the entrepreneurial process is ever as simple as it seems. Iām not perfect, and some days are tougher than others, but every little step counts. Each day is a new day, and Iām determined to keep pushing forward.
